As a presenting centre for SQA qualifications we offer a varied selection of qualifications to our Young People. The SQA qualifications we offer are to support our Young People on their individual learning journey and to provide them with qualifications to ensure they gain the skills and experience for the workplace, therefore ,giving them an opportunity to move onto a positive and sustained destination.

The range of qualifications we offer are in partnership with our mainstream secondary schools, positive achievements and The Prince's Trust.

Guide to SQA Awards 

National 3 

  • Made up of Units 
  • Assessed as a Pass or Fail 
  • Learners need to pass all units to achieve the qualification 

National 4 

  • Made up of units 
  • Added value unit (involves a test or coursework) 
  • Assessed as a Pass or Fail 
  • Learners need to pass all units to achieve the qualification 

National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher 

  • Made up of units 
  • Final Assessment Graded A-D or "no award" 
  • Learners must pass all units and Final Assessment to achieve the qualification 

Qualifications for Work 

  • These awards are designed specifically for young people who are ready for their first experience of the world of work 
  • They are meaningful qualifications that are of a credible standard employers can recognise and trust 

Wider Achievement Awards 

  • Designed to recognise wider achievement and development of skills which will help learners to succeed in today's world 
  • They recognise the life and work skills that come from a wide range of activities including sport, voluntary work and can take place out with the school 

Personal Development Awards 

  • We work in partnership with The Prince's Trust and deliver their Achieve Programme
